Affectionately known as “The Del,” this historic hotel has been a vacation spot to many celebrities since 1888, its grand Victorian architecture crowned by a signature red-roofed turret that resembles a castle. Year-round, the outside “backyard” of the hotel is always an inviting, lively area with a winding seaside path tracing the coast, live music often playing, boutique shops to window shop, and pop-up bars serving drinks that make every stroll feel like a celebration—it’s this environment you’ll be immersed in as you skate. Make reservations ahead of time; tickets include skates and 90 minutes of skating with a portion of the proceeds going to Make-a-Wish San Diego.
For an elevated family experience, you can add The Frostbite Lounge to your reservations, which gives you plush seating on the beach, your own roaring fire pit and à la carte food and beverage service (s’mores, anyone?). The rink is also ADA and wheelchair accessible.
