Wellness and self-care can mean different things. For some, it’s about getting away from the noise, rooting yourself in nature and enjoying holistic foods. To others, it’s about spa days, yoga and mineral springs.
For this weekend getaway, it’s a little bit of both. Although not a designated wellness destination, Las Vegas has places where you can enjoy luxury while still getting a much-needed refresh and recharge.
If you’re looking for less of the buffets and casinos and more of the quiet desert and luxury Nevada has to offer, here’s a perfect weekend itinerary for you.

Day 1
Westin Lake Las Vegas
Although it’s in the name of the hotel, this resort is about 20 miles away, an ideal location to get away from the noise while still close to the fun. Situated right on Lake Las Vegas, this resort blends retreat with recreation. Seriously. There is hardly a shortage of things to do at and near the resort, with fitness, horseback riding, spas and more—but we’ll get to that later. For now, you’ll check in to your room, one that you can go budget-friendly with a clean, spacious room or splurge a bit for your own junior suite.
Once settled in, the first activity we recommend is heading straight to the lake beach. There’s an array of watercraft available, including paddleboards, which is a great way to take in a golden sunset.
You could stay in and eat here tonight; there are holistic food options onsite. But, if you feel like a drive, Honey + Salt in Las Vegas is a rustic, farm-to-table-style place worth a stop. With a menu focused on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, it’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a colorful farmers market salad, savor a perfectly grilled sustainable fish or indulge in a wholesome quinoa and roasted beet bowl.

Day 2:
Qi Gong, Spas & Cabanas
Day two of your wellness weekend is about awakening the physical body, finding your energy source and enjoying some luxury. To start, you’ll head to the nearby Body & Brain studio for yoga or a Qi Gong session. If you haven’t tried it yet, Qi Gong is about gentle, flowing movements that blend mindful breathwork and balance to cultivate energy and leave you feeling calm and centered. Be sure to sign up for the class beforehand, and you can pay for a one-time trial class that is affordable.
After mindfully exercising, it’s time for a bit of pampering. Head over to g Aveda Spa Lago for a custom treatment. Along with hair and beauty services, they offer aromatherapy massages that incorporate desert botanicals to rejuvenate the skin and muscles. Every service uses Aveda’s plant-based approach with a focus on balance, so you leave feeling lighter, calmer and completely recharged.
In the afternoon, reserve a private cabana for a poolside swim (and nap) or head out to the beach lake again where you can opt for kayaking to add some adventure. For a wholesome meal, head to the Arts District’s Main St. Provisions, where the menu is all about seasonal, locally sourced flavors—think herb-crusted fish, roasted root vegetables and vibrant salads.

Day 3
Hiking & Retail Therapy, Wellness Style
On our last day, we’re going to act like we’re morning people on this wellness weekend because it’s the desert, and if you’re going to do anything outdoors that isn’t swimming, the best time is bright and early. Head to Red Rock Canyon’s Calico Tanks Trail, where the sunrise glow and smell of creosote will make you feel better about being awake.
Did you know that red rocks are thought to promote healing?
Some believe that there are a few spiritual vortexes found in Henderson thanks to the sandstone’s restorative healing. While they are not open to the public, it’s said that their energy radiates beyond their borders and can be felt on hikes like this. Whether you believe in mysticism, studies do show real benefits. For one, red psychologically stimulates energy and creativity according to the National Institutes of Health. Plus, spending time in nature reduces stress and anxiety, making this hike great for your physical and mental wellbeing. Enjoy grounding on this beautiful, slightly moderate hike before heading back to the resort.
After all that exercise, transform that post-exertion endorphin rush into restorative retail therapy because navigating boutiques and specialty shops feels like its own kind of therapy. Right near the resort, The Village at Lake Las Vegas offers delightful, small-scale shops ideal for wellness-minded travelers like a med spa with rejuvenating beauty services and cozy, locally owned boutiques so you’re mindful in how you shop.
The best way to finish any weekend is with a toast, and by that, we mean the bread type. Toastique—just a short drive away from the resort—is a perfect last stop for a healthy but delicious toast and juice. These gourmet toasts are served almost like a charcuterie board with sweet, fruity options, smoked salmon, Greek-style options and more. Pair it with a collagen latte, wellness shot or a classic smoothie to be ready for your travels.
After days of hiking red rock trails, unwinding at the spa and fueling with fresh, mindful meals, hopefully your wellness weekend in Henderson leaves you recharged, centered and ready to carry that calm long after you’ve headed home.
